Outliers in Oklahoma: Weekend preview

by Website Admin

The Utah Outliers travel to Oklahoma to take on the Midwest Division OKC Blazers at the Arctic Edge Arena for a three-game series. The two heavyweights will collide and see each other for the first time this season. Both teams have once again asserted themselves amongst the leaders at the top of the WSHL standings.

The Outliers sit behind the Ogden Mustangs in the Northwest Division standings while the Blazers can certainly reclaim their second-place divisional spot if they get a win streak going. After losing three straight to arch-rival, El Paso Rhinos last weekend, OKC will be fuming and looking to get back on track against the Outliers. Utah is heading to OKC on a two-game win streak and has not lost in regulation in the new year.

The Outliers come in with a record of 23-9-0-2 and the Blazers are 19-13-1. This is only the third matchup between these two powerhouses of the WSHL, with the first meeting coming two seasons ago at the Las Vegas Showcase. Utah was able to dictate play throughout the contest and skated away with an impressive 3-0 win. Last season the Blazers came to Utah and stole two wins of the three-game series. Both clubs will be primed and ready for each other this weekend and the games promise to be action-packed.
