Outliers Prepare For Mountain Division Playoffs

by Website Admin

After a six-month marathon journey through the USPHL regular season, four Mountain division teams will begin their quest for a spot in the National Championship. The USPHL Mountain division playoffs will be held in Greeley, Colorado March 11-14.  The playoff format will consist of a 4-team tournament with a winner eventually being declared by single elimination.

The four Mountain Division playoff teams (Northern Colorado Eagles, Ogden Mustangs, Pueblo Bulls, Utah Outliers) will start the tournament with each team playing a 3-game round-robin.

After the completion of round-robin play, the four teams will be seeded (1-4) based on the round-robin results. The top three seeded teams will advance into the playoff portion of the tournament with the fourth-seeded team being eliminated.

The first seeded team from round-robin play will automatically receive a 'bye' and advance to the championship game. The second and third seeded teams will play each other in a semi-final game for the chance to advance to the finals. The winner of the semi-final game will play the first seeded team for the Mountain division championship.

The Mountain division champion will advance to the USPHL National Championship in Chesapeake, VA March 18-22.
