ABOUT US UTAH OUTLIERS

The stand out program for the stand out player

In elite performance, an outlier is someone who works harder, think sharper, and commit deeper. They train with purpose and compete like champions. Greatness isn’t accidental; it’s built through an everyday commitment and mentorship.

Who we are

The Utah Outliers are a U-20 Tier II junior hockey team based in Park City, UT. Junior hockey is the highest level of amateur hockey in North America. Our roster is made up of driven athletes, ages 17–20, from across the globe — all pursuing one goal: to elevate their game and advance to collegiate or professional hockey. We recruit players who are not only highly skilled but who are hungry to grow, lead, and compete in a championship-caliber environment.

Our Story

Founded in 2016 by Head Coach Paul Taylor and Managing Partner Rich Wolper, the Outliers were built with a clear vision: to create a player development powerhouse. Coach Taylor brought over 15 years of proven success to the program, developing elite-level talent and helping them advance to NCAA and professional hockey. Taylor's philosophy aligned with the message in Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers: The Story of Success — a book that helped inspire both the team’s name and its mission.

Our Mission

To build winners — on and off the ice. Our development model is built on running a professional program, developing young men, and advancing players to the highest levels of the sport.
