Weekend Preview: Ogden and Eagles

The Outliers are back in action this weekend as the play host to the Ogden Mustangs on Friday and the Northern Colorado Eagles on Saturday. 

Outliers vs. Ogden

The Outliers and Mustangs will be meeting for the third time this season. Both teams have picked up a victory with the score being 3-2 in both games. 

The previous two games saw a lot of fast paced action between the two teams with tight checking, physical play and solid goaltending by Outliers goalie Collin Soderholm and Mustangs Domagoj Troha. 

Game three of the season should see a lot of the same as the first two games. Both teams have found success on the power play and shots on goal have been close in the previous two contests. 

The Outliers are led in points by forwards  Alex Charin (3G,4A,7PTS), Ricky Bredberg (2G,4A,6PTS), and Trent Gepahrt (4G.1A.5PTS). Luc Modry leads the team's defenseman in scoring with (1G,5A, 6PTS). 

The Mustangs are led in points by forwards Cade Herrera (9G,6A,15PTS) and Jake Meure (6G,9A, 15PTS). Christian Phinney leads all defenseman in points (1G,8A,9PTS).

Game time is 7:30 PM (MST) at the Maverik Center in West Valley. Live action can be found live streamed on Hockeytv.com 


Outliers vs. Eagles 

On Saturday the Outliers will play host to the Northern Colorado Eagles. These two teams met a couple weeks ago and the Eagles won games on Friday (4-1) and Saturday (3-0) with the Outliers winning on Sunday (7-1). 

The Outliers will be looking to build on their last game against the Eagles where they found the net seven different times with scoring coming all throughout the line up. 

The Outliers will have the addition of five players who were not in the line up last time the team faced Northern Colorado, Forwards Shafaat Hashim, Brett Morich Nikolas Schwab along with defenseman Jakub Suran and goaltender Rustam Kulizade will see their first action of the season against the Eagles on Saturday. 

The Eagles are led in points by forwards Brennan McFarland (12G,18A,30PTS), and Nicolas Samson (9G,13A,22PTS), Case Kantgias leads all defenseman in points with (10G,11A,21PTS).
