Following a strong 5-1 victory In their last game against the Northern Colorado Eagles, The Utah Outliers prepare to go on the road again, for an away game tonight at 7:30pm, versus the Ogden Mustangs. The Outliers are back home tomorrow for their home opener at Acord Ice Arena at 6:30 pm, for a rematch against the Ogden Mustangs.

The Outliers move into their second week of play as they have been working hard in practice to fine tune their game. Head Coach, Paul Taylor, was asked what he anticipates will be the greatest challenge going into the weekend, and stated, “We have to find our team game and play as a unified group. We have to play with better structure as we move towards this weekend against Ogden.”

The Utah Outliers are currently 1-2, approaching game four and five of the 2019-20 regular season. While the first weekend of play didn’t go exactly how the Outliers had hoped, it allowed them to address weaker areas in their game that became apparent, following two initial losses against Northern Colorado. “Our team has to be more consistent shift to shift so we have been working on improving our play on both sides of the puck,” said Taylor.

Assistant Coach, Sean Leahy said he is confident about the strength of the goaltending going into tonight’s game. “Having Wahlgren back this season is exciting, because of how he usually performs against top teams, so we are quite confident in his ability and our defensive core playing in front of him.”

When asked about how he feels going into the game tonight, Miroslav Hradecky said, “nothing is better than playing meaningful games against your state rival. It makes for an exciting and challenging weekend.”

The Outliers are currently led offensively by Josh Harrell who has three goals while five other players  have a goal each. The Outliers will hope to get a deeper contribution of offensive production from across their line up as they head into this weekends series.

Be sure to watch both games on Black Dog Hockey, or show your support in person, tonight at 7:30 pm in Ogden, at the Ice Sheet, and tomorrow for the Utah Outliers Home Opener, at Acord Ice Arena, at 6:30 pm.
