Weekend Preview: Outliers vs West Sound Admirals
The Utah Outliers are currently on a four-game win streak, after dominating the Steamboat Wranglers this past week, adding three victories, and outscoring the Wranglers 40-4. The weekend consisted of the first hat trick of the season for Trent Gephart, and the first shutout of the year for Oscar Wahlgren.
As the Outliers prepare to take on the West Sound Admirals, at the Bremerton Ice Center in Washington State, they hope to continue their streak, while proving to be a serious contender in the league and the Northwest division.
Head Coach of the Utah Outliers, Paul Taylor, recognizes the importance of building off the team’s recent games. “We need to continue to bring the momentum from last weekend, into this upcoming series against West Sound, and make sure we have everyone in our line up contributing and playing at a high level,” he stated.
Sean Leahy, an Assistant Coach with the Outliers, is confident in the defense’s ability to open up opportunities for the offense, “a substantial portion of our scoring has materialized from our blue line, and I feel this can and should continue to occur this coming weekend.”
Seth Wolfe, an Assistant Coach with the Outliers, is eager to see the team’s progression this weekend, “the team and the players collectively, have started playing much more in sync with each other, and as the camaraderie continues to develop, I see great possibilities for them,” he said.
Josh Harrell, a forward, in his first year with the Outliers, sporting number 21, already has 6 goals and 3 assists this season, likes the way he and his linemates have been playing together, “we felt really good out there last weekend, and we are excited for another opportunity to prove ourselves individually, but more importantly, as a team, against West Sound.”
The first puck drops Friday, November 1st, at 8:30 pm (MDT), and is available for live viewing on Black Dog Hockey.
